Paul Tergat wins 2005 ING New York City Marathon Followed by Hendrick Ramaala, Meb Keflezighi, Robert Kipkoech Cheruiyot, and Abdi Abdirahman.
In a dramatic split-second finish, Tergat wins the first place, with Ramaala following him only by just about a second. Both sprinters were initially clocked in at 2:09:31, but then the official timing for Tergat was revised to 2:09:30 making him the winner. Meb Keflezighi was third, Robert Kipkoech Cheruiyot was fourth, and Abdi Abdirahman the fifth place winner.
