Extended Weather Forecast for November 06, 2005 New York City Marathon
The weather at the time of 2004 New York City Marathon was excellent: The temperatures remained around 45°F, humidity remained low, and there was plenty of sunshine throughout the duration of the race. This year, the weather condition for the 2005 NYC Marathon is expected to remain excellent as well.
Historically, temperatures during the past NYC Marathons have been as follows:
- Average High: 62ºF (17ºC)
- Average Low: 47ºF (8ºC)
- Mean Temp.: 5ºF (13ºC)
Usually New York City weather does not reach freezing temperatures until around late December. If we were to extrapolate from the past several years, we can expect the NYC temperatures in November this year to remain around 41-54°F (about 5-12°C). Considering that NYC averages between 3.7 to 4.5 inches of rain in November, however, there is a slight chance of rain on/around November 6, 2005.
Considering that the organizers of the 2005 NYC Marathon have announced they will adjust the prize money amount allocation criteria to accommodate abnormal hot/humid weather conditions (i.e. if the weather gets hotter than 68° Fahrenheit and/or if the humidity exceeds 65%), it should be pretty safe to assume that the weather conditions would be considerably more favorable than the above stated numbers.
We will continue to watch out for any additional weather related information that may be released by the National Weather Service as we approach the NYC Marathon day, and update this page accordingly.
